Kawauchi’s “writing” is akin to haiku . Where Moriyama uses bold kaisho (block script) and Sugimoto uses reisho (ancient clerical script), Kawauchi uses sōsho (grass script)—cursive, flowing, and almost illegible in its tenderness.
