The film received mixed reviews for its outdated, predictable plot. However, Thalapathy Vijay’s star power and the film’s strong family sentiment (perfect for the festival) helped it put up a respectable fight. It collected decent numbers in the Telugu states, particularly in the Nizam region, but could not match the collections of Waltair Veerayya .
