Every KUID follows a specific numerical format that tells the game exactly what the asset is and who made it [5, 11]. : The standard format [2].

If a KUID belongs to a payware creator (like Jointed Rail or K&L Trainz), you will never find it on free KUID indexes. If you see a KUID from author ID 37581 (Jointed Rail) and you did not buy that locomotive, your KUID search will fail. You must purchase the original product.
